Josephine Community Libraries is partnering with WorkSource Oregon to provided expanded opportunities for job-seekers to add an important national credential to their resumes, the National Career Readiness Certification (NCRC).
Beginning Monday, October 19, 2015 and running through January 25, 2016, the NCRC will be available to test-takers every Monday at 8 am at the Grants Pass branch, 200 NW C Street. Pre-registration is required. To register, candidates should send an email to email@example.com or call 541-476-0571 to learn more. Testing is funded by WorkSource Oregon, so it is free to examinees.
“WorkSource Oregon is thrilled by the prospect of partnering with the library to increase our capacity to reach more individuals in our community,” said Aurora King, director of business and innovation for WorkSource Oregon. “The NCRC is a proven skills validation tool to enhance employability and career development while offering a business more information on a prospective employee or current employee who is a candidate for promotion.”
The library is normally closed on Mondays, but those registered to take the test will be admitted at the front entrance at 8 am. Book checkout and other services will not be offered.
“The NCRC proctoring is a new tool in the library’s ongoing efforts to support economic success in the area,” said Kate Lasky, JCLI executive director. “We hope this partnership with WorkSource Oregon helps job seekers in Josephine County.”
