In partnership with the OSU Master Gardeners the Grants Pass branch of Josephine Community Libraries is offering monthly Earth science education workshops for children from September through May, launching on Wednesday, September 14.
This FREE program called Young Master Gardeners is available through the Grants Pass branch, located at 200 NW C Street, every second Wednesday of the month. Pre-kindergarten sessions for children up to five years take place from 11:30 a.m. to noon. The after-school session for children six and older takes place from 3:00 to 3:45 p.m.
“OSU Extension Services deliver an expert program with Young Master Gardeners at the library,” said JCLI Executive Director Kate Lasky. “The children are able to take home what they learn and explore their own backyards.”
The Young Master Gardeners program aims to expand and enrich children’s knowledge about plants, gardening, and biology through hands-on activities and related books. OSU certified Master Gardeners have been conducting the reading and learning sessions since 2011.
