Children’s new book drive in September

Kelly’s Automotive Service and the Powderhorn Café are partnering to support the children’s libraries of Josephine Community Libraries by collecting new children’s books through September 30. Everyone who drops off a new children’s book to one of the two businesses will be entered to win two standard oil changes from Kelly’s Automotive Service or two pies from Powderhorn Café. Kelly’s Automotive Service is located at 1661 NE 6th Street and the Powderhorn Café is located at 321 NE 6th Street in Grants Pass.

“Ensuring our local community library has up-to-date books is important on so many levels,”  said Lisa McClease-Kelly Co-Owner of Kelly’s Automotive Service. “We know that kids who aren’t proficient readers by the third grade are more likely to drop out of school later, so the New Book Drive is something we as a small business can do to support kids locally.”

The library is asking participants to donate new children’s picture books and biographies to update the children’s library collection. The New Book Drive benefits the children’s libraries at all four branches of Josephine Community Libraries in Grants Pass, Williams, Wolf Creek, and Illinois Valley.
