Storytime Celebration: Looking for clues in the library—Sat, Oct 21 from 12–4 p.m.

The whole family is invited to the Storytime Celebration in the children’s library at the Grants Pass branch. Enjoy detective-themed storytime all day with special storytellers, spy crafts, pumpkin walks, face painting, and free family fun.

The schedule for the day includes:
12:00 p.m.: Bilingual Storytime
1:00 p.m.: Pumpkin Walk
2:00 p.m.: Detective Storytime
3:00 p.m.: Pumpkin Walk

Plot Planning Party: The world needs your novel—Sat, Oct 21 from 4–6 p.m.

Writers are invited to join the Plot Planning Party to get ready for National Novel Writing Month (NaNoWriMo), an annual event that encourages kids and adults to tackle the challenge of writing a novel in November.

Community Read-Aloud: Pages for all ages— Sun, Oct 22 from 1–4 p.m.

Celebrate reading and community during the ninth annual read-off with emcee Jill Hamm of KAJO/KLDR. Listen as readers of all ages compete for prizes by reading aloud from a favorite book. Adults and high school students will read the first page of a favorite book to compete for prizes from local businesses. Elementary and middle school students will read a two-minute passage from a favorite book for the chance to win a $500 cash-prize for their school library.

Funding for this year’s Readapalooza is made possible by the Grants Pass Friends of the Library. Supporting organizations include For Vannoy Farms, KAJO/KLDR, and Rogue Coffee Roasters.
