Library partners with Blue Zones Project to demonstrate plant-based holiday recipes
Community members are invited to attend “Healthy Holiday Eating” from 10 to 11 a.m. on Saturday, November 17 in the bookstore of the Grants Pass branch.
In partnership with Blue Zones Project of Grants Pass, the library will be hosting a cooking demonstration led by a local chef, Dee Puller, to teach community members about plant-based options during the holidays. Along the way, participants will learn some healthy holiday-hacks to eat well and be well this holiday season.
Chef Dee has devoted her time to teaching others how to prepare delicious plant-based meals. From food preparation and kitchen shortcuts to the nutritional, ethical, and social aspects of eating a plant-based diet. Her goal is to break down plant-based cooking, making it easy and accessible, all while giving her students tips, tricks, and tools that last a lifetime. Outside of teaching, Chef Dee volunteers for the Physicians Committee for Responsible Medicine Food for Life Cancer Project Cooking Classes and assists author Colleen Patrick-Goudreau of joyfulvegan.com with cooking classes, recipe testing for cookbooks, and tabling at Vegetarian Festivals.
“Healthy Holiday Eating” is the last of three cooking demonstrations in the “Food Adventures with Blue Zones” series in a partnership between Josephine Community Library District and Blue Zones Project of Grants Pass.
