Día de los Niños at the library

Library increases Spanish-language materials through Libros for Oregon

The community is invited to browse recently enhanced Spanish-language materials and celebrate the Hispanic culture during Día de los Niños from noon to 2 p.m. on Saturday, May 4 at the Grants Pass branch of Josephine Community Library.

Community members can checkout Spanish-language books for children, teens, and adults in all genres purchased through the State Library of Oregon’s Libros for Oregon program. People are encouraged to stay to celebrate the Hispanic culture by enjoying a special storytime and music in Spanish, sampling Mexican pastries and horchata, playing games, and making Latin American crafts.

In addition to Día de los Niños, each branch of Josephine Community Library will host a storytime in Spanish the first week of May on the following dates:

  • Grants Pass branch: Wednesday, May 1 from 11:30 a.m.–noon
  • Wolf Creek branch: Wednesday, May 1 from 3–3:30 p.m.
  • Williams branch: Friday, May 3 from 2:30–3:30 p.m.
  • Illinois Valley branch: Saturday, May 4 from noon–1 p.m.

This program is made possible through a partnership with Libros for Oregon and the State Library of Oregon through the Library Services and Technology Act.
