Word Wise: Tips for keeping your child excited about reading

Does your child want to stay up past bedtime? Give them the opportunity to go to sleep a half hour later if they’re reading. Allowing them to push their bedtime back to read feeds their desire to stay up later, makes them feel more independent, and turns reading into a special privilege.

Because a reader today is a learner for a lifetime.

This week, children’s curbside pick-up items will include a coupon for a free Pizza Hut Personal Pan Pizza, while supplies last.

All four branches are offering curbside pick-up service every Friday and Saturday from noon to 4pm. To order books, use your online account to request up to six items. If you don’t have an account or access to Internet, call your local branch during regular service hours for assistance. Staff will gather your items and contact you when they’re ready for pick up.
