Library closes due to COVID-19 pandemic

All four branches closed Monday, March 16 until further notice

In response to the Office of the Governor’s decision to close all Oregon K12 schools statewide, Josephine Community Library (JCL) will close its four branch libraries in Grants Pass, Illinois Valley, Williams, and Wolf Creek beginning Monday, March 16 and until further notice. All library programs and meeting room use is also suspended. All library programs scheduled today, Friday, March 13 and tomorrow, Saturday, March 14 have been cancelled.

Material due dates and library card expiration dates will be extended, and library branch book drops will remain open.

Josephine Community Library recognizes and shares the community’s concerns with the evolving COVID-19 pandemic. The JCL Board of Directors and staff are taking extra precautions to protect the health and welfare of patrons, volunteers, and staff. Library management understands that the situation is fluid and evolving and staff must be responsive to directives from the Oregon Health Authority and the Office of the Governor.

Online library services such as e-books, audio books, language and learning tools will still be available with a library card.

The library Board of Directors will continue its plan to hold its regularly scheduled board meeting on Wednesday, March 18 at 5:15pm at the AllCare Health building, 1701 NE 7th St, Grants Pass. This meeting is open to the public.
