Register for the 2022 Summer Reading Program

To join the free Summer Reading Program, track reading accomplishments, and collect virtual raffle tickets, participants can register a Beanstack app account or login to their existing account if they have participated in past library reading challenges. For mobile devices, the Beanstack app is also available for free.

Bugs-R-Us: Bugs as Food

Touch and explore live insects and witness some of the largest preserved insects on earth with Bugs-R-Us as they visit each library branch this summer. Participants who are feeling extra brave will even have a chance to try some edible bugs!

Registration is not required and a library card is not necessary to participate.

Storybook Walk

During the Summer Reading Program, gather the family to read the classic poem, “I Wandered Lonely as a Cloud” by William Wordsworth in downtown Grants Pass and Cave Junction business windows during the month of July.

Nature Camp activities and coloring pages

Each week, discover new camp coloring pages, crafts, and other printable activities for all ages. Share your creations with us by posting photos and tagging @JosephineCommunityLibrary on Facebook or Instagram.

Check out a disc golf set, a telescope, county parks passes, horseshoes, and other outdoor recreational items.

Week 3 in-person "craftivities"

Drop-in to your preferred branch on any open day between 1–4 pm for weekly “craftivities.” Each week during the Summer Reading Program, children and teens will get everything they need for a themed DIY craft or activity.

Week 3 “craftivities” include “Wild About Reading Scavenger Hunt” for children and teens and an additional pressed flower activity for teens.

Children, teens, and their families will have fun clicking on items all around this interactive virtual room. Explore and discover new items, resources, and videos themed around the Summer Reading Program.
