Library launches Transparent Language, a free language learning service for cardholders

March 2, 2026 in

Grants Pass, March 2, 2026 — Josephine Community Library now offers Transparent Language Online for Libraries, a comprehensive language-learning platform available free to library cardholders. This resource provides unlimited access to more than 110 languages, including English courses designed for speakers of over 30 languages.

Transparent Language Online features include pronunciation practice with speech analysis, grammar lessons, writing activities, and vocabulary-building exercises. The program works on computer desktops or mobile devices through a web browser or mobile app for learning from home or on the go.

“We’re excited to introduce Transparent Language Online as our new language-learning resource,” said Library Director Kate Lasky. “This more cost-effective service allows us to provide a wider range of languages and engaging features for kids.”

The platform also includes Transparent Language Online for Kids, a section designed especially for young learners. Children can build language skills through engaging, age-appropriate activities and interactive games that make learning fun while reinforcing vocabulary, pronunciation, and comprehension.

With no additional fees, patrons can access Transparent Language Online for Libraries using their library card. To get started, visit josephinelibrary.org, then click the EDUCATION/RESEARCH dropdown menu. Next, choose ONLINE LEARNING RESOURCES.

Patrons currently using Mango Languages are encouraged to finish any active courses or download needed materials before March 15.
