Services during COVID
All four library branches in Grants Pass, Illinois Valley, Williams, and Wolf Creek are offering multiple services while buildings are restricted due to health concerns.
Book return drop boxes
Thursdays/Fridays — all branches
Book drops are open on Thursdays and Fridays at all branches to allow time for returned materials to be quarantined.
Curbside pick-up service
Fridays/Saturdays, Noon to 4 pm — all branches
To receive curbside service, patrons can use their library card account to place requests through their account online. Community members who do not have access to a computer, cannot connect to the Internet, or prefer phone calls can call their local branch Tuesday through Saturday from 11 am to 4 pm. Staff will assist with reading recommendations as well as placing curbside service requests. Patrons are asked to wait until they receive a notification from the library that their requested items are ready for pick up. It may take longer than usual for requests at rural branches to make it to the appropriate pick-up destination due to delayed courier service.
Printing service
Pick up during curbside service hours or by appointment — all branches
Printing service is being offered at all four branches. Email your documents to info@josephinelibrary.org anytime for black-and-white printing. Library staff will alert you when documents are ready for pick-up. There is currently no fee for this service, but folks are asked to limit pages to 10 per week.
Phone support
Tuesday through Saturday, 11 am to 4 pm — all branches
Library staff is available for technical assistance by phone at all four branches Tuesday through Saturday from 11 am to 4 pm. You can find branch phone numbers on our Contact Information page.
WiFi
24/7 — all branches
Internet and password-free WiFi are available outside all four library branches 24/7.
Instant online library cards
24/7 — online only
While facilities are restricted, the library is offering fast and free online library card registration. Instantly access thousands of ebooks, audiobooks, and interactive and educational databases, and other entertainment for all ages. If you get a message that says “a patron with this name is already registered,” it means you probably already have a library card. Call your local branch to update your account.
Shelf Shopper (personal shopper service)
Order anytime, pick up during curbside service hours — all branches
Whether you’re searching for an audiobook, DVD, or print book, Shelf Shopper can meet all your needs. Simply fill out the form and we’ll pick a selection of materials for you. After you receive notification that items are read, you can pick them up during curbside hours on Fridays and Saturdays.
Patron suggestions for purchase
Suggest anytime, pick up during curbside or Grab & Go — all branches
Library staff is encouraging community members to suggest the purchase of ebooks and print books they are interested in checking out by using our Suggest a Purchase form. Collection development librarians are making new ebook selections based on long wait times and patron holds, suggestions for purchase, and the Publisher’s Weekly Best Sellers List.
Virtual programs
Various days/hours — online only
The library is partnering to offer new virtual storytimes and online programs for all ages through the website. Please visit the calendar to find what you’re looking for. View calendar for program information.
Library re-opening plan
The library will continue to maintain a flexible, responsive, yet conservative approach to reopening. The safety and well being of our staff, volunteers, and patrons remains our highest priority.
COVID-19 resources
Library branch facilities are temporarily restricted to the public due to public health concerns. Stay up-to-date on the evolving pandemic with these resources selected by our librarians.
