Job opening: Cataloging Manager

Join the team shaking things up in southern Oregon as our new Cataloging Manager. Josephine Community Library District is seeking a new special someone to help our library system grow and serve our community with excellence. This position is perfect for a recent graduate looking to enter the field or a seasoned profession hoping to share their experience. While an MLIS is preferred, it is not required and could be in progress. Transferable experience is a plus. about the position

The Cataloging Manager is responsible for overseeing cataloging and processing of library materials, maintenance of the cataloging system (ILS), supervising and directing volunteers in original and copy cataloging, responding to cataloging-related inquiries or problems, and providing training. The Cataloging Manager works closely with the Public Services Director, Collection Development Librarian, Fiscal Coordinator, and other Department Heads to help maintain a team-oriented climate that attracts, keeps, inspires, and motivates quality staff and volunteers and secures the trust and confidence of the Board of Directors.

Cataloging Manager is a full-time position with an hourly pay range between $17–25 depending on experience and/or education. Retirement, leave benefits, and plenty of opportunity for advancement are offered. Click to see the Cataloging Manager Job Description (pdf).

about the library district

In May 2017, citizens placed a measure on the ballot to permanently fund the libraries in Grants Pass, Illinois Valley, Williams, and Wolf Creek. For the previous 10 years, the libraries were supported by generous donations and the heroic contributions of more than 360 volunteers annually. The newly formed Josephine Community Library District is committed to enriching the community through access to quality library services across Josephine County and will continue to rely heavily on volunteers to run all four library branches.
