Storytime in a Bag

feelings“Storytime in a Bag” is a special early literacy program designed to support early literacy education for children ages birth to four years. Through this program, preschools and child care centers may check out materials to deliver excellent storytimes for their students. Each bag offers an array of books selected to feature a specific theme with activities and an accompanying guide. Child care providers are welcome to borrow “Storytime in Bag” materials with a free library card.

Through a partnership with Southern Oregon Education Service District (SOESD), an early literacy mentor is available to deliver “Storytime in a Bag” to your center and share a story with your students. To request an early literacy mentor, contact Danielle McCrea at SOESD at 541-956-2059. This program is made possible by a grant from Southern Oregon Early Learning Services (SOELS).

To place a bag on hold for checkout, search the catalog by “subject” with the keywords “book bags.” Click the “Place Request” button and enter your library card barcode number or username and your password. A library volunteer will set it aside and contact you for pick up. For more information click to email info@josephinelibrary.org or call 541-476-0571.
