Community members invited to virtual meeting
Josephine Community Library and the City of Cave Junction invite community members to attend the next virtual Cave Junction City Council meeting on Monday, May 24 from 7–9 pm to learn about plans for the renovation of the Illinois Valley library branch and to offer important input about meeting space, technology needs, and more.
“We are hoping that folks who live in the Illinois Valley will share their needs to help guide decisions about size and features of a community meeting space and more,” said Library Director Kate Lasky.
The public library in Cave Junction has not been updated in more than 50 years, making this branch a priority in Josephine Community Library’s overall plan to modernize the libraries in Josephine County. Josephine Community Library is currently raising money to renovate the Illinois Valley Library branch through various efforts, including government grants and partnering with the City of Cave Junction to apply for a Community Development Block Grant.
During the virtual public meeting, ZCS Engineering & Architecture will present a variety of renovation options for input with the goal of tailoring final plans to meet the service needs and priorities of the community. Public participation and comments are encouraged.
A limited number of computer stations will be available at the Illinois Valley branch of Josephine Community Library for those who are not able to join the meeting from home or a mobile device. To reserve a spot, call 541-592-4778.
