Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library continues for children in Josephine County
The Oregon Community Foundation (OCF) has awarded the Grants Pass Rotary Foundation a yearly $20,000 for the next three years to support the Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library (DPIL) in partnership with Josephine Community Library.
In May 2018, the four Rotary clubs in Josephine County teamed up with Josephine Community Library and Josephine County Library Foundation to bring the DPIL to families in our community. DPIL is a book gifting program that mails free books to children every month from birth to age five in participating communities. Through this program, every child under the age of five in Josephine County is qualified to receive a book by mail, at no cost to their families, every month until their fifth birthday.
To date, about 1,600 children in Josephine County have registered and almost 7,500 books have been mailed through the program.
