Grants Pass library branch begins new hours March 20

Main branch expands from 24 to 40 open hours per week

The Grants Pass branch begins its new, expanded hours of operation on Tuesday, March 20. This will be the first time since the 1990s that the Grants Pass branch of JCLD will be open 40 hours per week.
The new hours are as follows:
Tuesdays and Thursdays from 10 a.m.–7 p.m.
Wednesdays and Fridays from 10 a.m.–6 p.m.
Saturdays from 10 a.m.–4 p.m.
“The new tax rate gives us stable funding but it’s lean,” said JCLD Library Director Kate Lasky. “We’ll need volunteers to help support the new hours.”
With expanded hours, all four library branches anticipate a need for more volunteers. For more information about volunteering at one of the four library branches, contact JCLD Volunteer Coordinator Amy King at 541-476-0571 ext. 109 or aking@josephinelibrary.org.
New hours were selected after analyzing data from a communitywide survey conducted in August of 2017 and consulting with an advisory committee made up of community members and volunteers.
Library patrons can expect to see a gradual uptick in new and better materials, as well as programs being offered at the library throughout the year.
