Library hosts astronomy program in preparation for October eclipse

Community members of all ages are invited to join local astronomer Joe Stodola from the Grants Pass Astronomers Club for a program at the Grants Pass and Wolf Creek branches of Josephine Community Library on October 7, 2023 in preparation for the October 14 annular eclipse, which will be visible from Oregon.

Participants will have a chance to explore lunar and solar eclipses and learn about how to safely observe them. During this program, participants will also learn about moon phases, types of full moons, and other observable lunar phenomena.

The schedule is as follows:
Saturday, October 7 | 11:30 am–1 pm | Grants Pass branch, 200 NW C Street
Saturday, October 7 | 2–3:30 pm | Wolf Creek branch, 102 Ruth Avenue

This program is offered at no charge and is open to the public. A library card is not needed to participate.
