Josephine County Parks Department partnering with Josephine Community Library’s “Library of Things”
Josephine Community Library and Josephine County Parks Department have partnered to bring four Day Use Park Passes to the Library of Things. Each kit includes a vehicle park pass and a map illustrating local parks and list of amenities. Park pass kits and other items from the Library of Things can be checked out for 10 days with a library card.
“This partnership with the Library of Things presents a unique chance to inspire Josephine County residents to come and recreate at one of our prime day-use locations,” said Josephine County Park’s Director Sarah Garceau.
The Library of Things gives patrons access to a variety of popular items without the burden of ownership — because libraries are no longer just for books, or even e-books. Examples of items available for check-out include PC laptops, STEM-themed toys, a sewing machine, musical instruments, recreational equipment, and more.
Day Use Park Passes allow free access to the following local county parks: Tom Pearce Park, Indian Mary, Almeda, Ennis Riffle, Wolf Creek, Whitehorse, Griffin, Schroeder, Fish Hatchery, Turtle Lane and Lake Selmac.
They are also good at the following locations and boat ramps: Chinook Park, Pierce Riffle Park, Lathrop, Galice, Robertson Bridge and Ferry Hole. Fees are NOT enforced at the following parks: Hog Creek, Matson, Whitehorse Boat Ramp, and the Walker Road entrance to Cathedral Hills.
