In the Cascades Region, which covers the vast area of Oregon and Southwest Washington, approximately 2,600 volunteers provide response, relief and recovery services; save lives through health and safety training; provide assistance to active military members, their families and local veterans; and ensure we maintain a safe and stable blood supply for patients in need.
The Oregon Health Plan (OHP) provides health care coverage for low-income Oregonians from all walks of life. This includes working families, children, pregnant women, single adults, seniors and more.
A free 24-hour crisis, support, and helpline for youth. YouthLine is a teen-to-teen youth crisis and support service provided by Lines for Life—a non-profit dedicated to preventing substance abuse and suicide. YouthLine operates a national helpline that provides crisis support and referrals via call, text, and chat. The YouthLine is answered by teen volunteers daily from 4 pm-10 pm PST (and by adults at all other times!). Translation services are available upon request.
The Family Connection provides a regional parenting hub where parents can come together, learn effective parenting skills, be introduced to community resources and find support from other parents. We also provide organizations and agencies the ability to contract an evidence based parenting series or workshop for their clients.
As an Oregon Parenting Education Collaborative, we partner with local organizations, businesses, schools, daycare centers, and churches, to serve parents and children. The courses in parenting that we offer are all willingly attended because those who come are provided with an engaging experience. Our parenting education series and one-day workshops celebrate positive learning and help parents become the kind of caregivers and role models their children want and need.
Early Childhood Services is an inclusive program serving over 250 children in Josephine County who have identified delays or disabilities, along with their typically developing peers. We provide direct instructional and therapeutic supports to infants, toddlers and preschoolers through home visiting and classroom based programs, and support families, preschool teachers, and child care providers through consultation.
