Library hosts astronomy program in partnership with local astronomer at Grants Pass, Illinois Valley, Williams, and Wolf Creek branches

Grants Pass, August 1, 2025— Community members of all ages are invited to join local astronomer Joe Stodola from the Grants Pass Astronomers Club for a program at the Grants Pass, Illinois Valley, Williams, and Wolf Creek branches of Josephine Community Library.

This program will cover the basics of astronomy, the wonders of the Moon, and the science of Earth-crossing asteroids. Are these asteroids truly a threat? How are they tracked? Discover the science behind the headlines in this informative and captivating session.

The schedule is as follows:
Tuesday, August 5 | 10–11 am | Williams branch, 158 Tetherow Rd
Wednesday, August 6 | 4–5 pm | Grants Pass branch, 200 NW C Street
Thursday, August 7 | 12–1 pm | Illinois Valley branch, 209 W Palmer St
Friday, August 8 | 12–1 pm | Wolf Creek branch, 102 Ruth Avenue
