Public libraries serve as informal cooling centers during heat waves

All four branches of Josephine Community Library serve community members as informal cooling centers during open hours on hot summer days.

Library hours at each branch are as follows:

To sign up for a library card, visit any branch in person or visit josephinelibrary.org/library-cards and sign up for a temporary online card to begin accessing virtual resources right away. Library card scholarships supported by Josephine Community Library Foundation are available for all youth ages birth through 17 who live in Josephine County. Library card scholarships for adults are also available upon request at all four library branches. A library card is not needed to visit the library or to participate in programs.
