Southern Oregon PBS Screening at the Library: The American Revolution

Grants Pass, October 31, 2025— Josephine Community Library invites the public to a special screening of The American Revolution, the new Ken Burns docuseries exploring the origins, conflicts, and enduring legacy of America’s founding war, on Saturday, November 22, from 11 am to 1 pm at the Grants Pass branch.

Presented in partnership with Southern Oregon PBS (SOPBS), this exclusive preview brings to life the revolutionary era through Ken Burns’ signature storytelling — combining vivid imagery, historical detail, and personal narratives to illuminate the fight for independence and the birth of a nation.

Following the screening, SOPBS CEO Phil Meyer will lead a discussion about the state of public media and the power of storytelling in shaping civic understanding.

This free community event is part of the library’s Declaration 250 program series, honoring the 250th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence in 2026. The series explores America’s founding ideals and their continued relevance in shaping democracy today.

The program is presented in partnership with Southern Oregon PBS and made possible by Washington Educational Telecommunications Association. A complete list of funders can be found at sopbs.org/events.
