Library offers STEM-based children’s program at all four branches
Children are invited to explore science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) this summer through “See Sound with a Tonoscope” at all four branches.
The schedule is as follows:
Wolf Creek: Wednesday, July 11 from 1:30–2:30 p.m.
Grants Pass: Wednesday, July 11 from 3:30–4:30 p.m.
Illinois Valley: Friday, July 13 from 11:30 a.m.–12:30 p.m.
Williams: Friday, July 13 from 1:30–2:30 p.m.
This STEM-based program will engage participants in hands-on science as they build a tonoscope and put it into action to see soundwaves flow through a balloon. This free program is designed for children ages nine and up.
According to the Department of Education, STEM programs give youth the opportunity to explore STEM-related concepts helping them to be better equipped with knowledge and skills to solve tough problems, gather and evaluate evidence, and make sense of information.
Registration is not required.
