Families and children are invited to learn how to prepare for emergencies such as earthquakes and wildfires. Josephine County Emergency Management will explain the Cascadia Subduction Zone and strategies for acting with our neighbors in response to hazard situations. Everyday Empathy: A Bilingual Storytime Children and their families are invited to join us for a storytime in Spanish and English with a special focus on empathy and being kind to others. Find out more »K9 Reading Buddies
Each week the library comes alive with furry friends waiting to hear a good book. Stop by the children's library at the Grants Pass branch every Tuesday from 3–4 pm for K9 Reading Buddies. During this program, trained therapy dogs provide a non-intimidating environment for children to learn to read out loud. Young readers have the opportunity to explore language and books during this special storytime. Registration is not required.

Grab a friend, drop in, and Game On! Try your hand at a variety of games, including chess, Pictionary, Uno, cards, and Exploding Kittens. Game On! is held from 4:30–5:30 pm every Wednesday at your preferred branch during the school year.

Parents and caregivers of children ages birth to five are invited to learn how to give the best storytime from home during the Sprout a Reader program. Participants will each receive a free storytime kit to take home. Storytime kits include silk scarves, tambourines, wrist bells, board books, and more! Children ages 3–6 and their caregivers are invited to join the Kindergarten Toolbox program on Thursdays from 5:30–6:30 pm at the Grants Pass branch beginning April 28 to promote Kindergarten readiness. During this six-week session, families will receive a toolbox with school supplies and other materials that they will learn to use over the course of the session.
