Braille accommodations

The library offers various services and tools to accommodate vision-impaired people of all ages. 

The library provides various services to accommodate individuals of all ages with print disabilities including vision assistive devices and a collection that consists of audiobooks, digital audiobooks, ebooks, and large print books. We’re also able to connect individuals to additional services offered by the State Library of Oregon Talking Book and Braille Library.

The Libby app for ebooks and audiobooks offers a dyslexic font option that’s designed to make text easier to read for dyslexic users.

Oregon Talking Book and Braille Library

Oregon Talking Book and Braille Library, a division of the State Library of Oregon, is a free library for any Oregonian with a print disability, which includes visual, physical, and reading impairments. All lending is done through the mail or via download. Paths to Literacy

This resource is a result of a partnership between Perkins School for the Blind and Texas School for the Blind and Visually Impaired. The information on this site ranges from a basic overview of literacy to various stages of development and special challenges, as well as an exploration of different media such as print, braille, and auditory strategies.
