Storybook Walk

During the month of July, find the Pop-Up Storybook Walk featured at select Oregon Summer Meals locations and other places in Grants Pass, Illinois Valley, Williams, and Wolf Creek.

What is a Storybook Walk?

A Storybook Walk is an outdoor reading and walking experience of a children’s book or poem with the “pages” of the book placed in different areas along a walking path.  Families are to take a stroll and read the featured story at their own pace.

2023 featured stories

The 2023 Pop-Up Storybook Walk features four stories including:

  • “I Wandered Lonely as a Cloud,” by William Wordsworth
  • “Harold and the Purple Crayon” by Crockett Johnson
  • an adapted version of the fable, “Stone Soup”
  • an adapted version of the fable, “I Know an old Woman Who Swallowed a Fly”
