The 2024 Summer Reading Program theme is A Journey Awaits: Where books are your passport and imagination is your destination sponsored by Evergreen Federal Bank, Josephine Community Library Foundation, and the State Library of Oregon’s Ready to Read grant.

Register as an individual reader or use your login information to register multiple family members under the same account. Community members of all ages who participated in last year can login to an existing account to join the 2024 Summer Reading Program.

Passport and stamps

Collect weekly “stamps’’ by filling out the weekly reading log in the free Summer Reading Program passport and by attending library events. Passports can be picked up at your preferred branches in Grants Pass, Williams, or Wolf Creek upon registration or click below to view the printable PDF. Registered participants are automatically entered into a raffle to win a grand prizes at the end of the Summer Reading Program. Each hour read earns one raffle ticket.

Teen Bad Artists Club

Join us every Thursday from 5–7 pm at the Grants Pass branch and collect weekly stickers, listen to music, and make bad art with new friends.

Storybook Walk

During July, find the Pop-Up Storybook Walk featured at select Summer Food Oregon locations, local parks, and other places in Josephine County.

Pick up the adult Summer Reading Program Bingo at your preferred branch or print the PDF. Completion prizes are available while supplies last.

The Summer Food Service Program offers free meals to all youth without any paperwork, income verification, and regardless of immigration status.

Lemonade Day

Youth can register to join Lemonade Day by June 21 sponsored by the Grants Pass & Josephine County Chamber of Commerce. Lemonade Day is a free, fun, experiential learning program that teaches youth how to start, own and operate their own business – a lemonade stand. Each child that registers receives a backpack with an Entrepreneur Workbook that teaches them the lessons of Lemonade Day like creating budgets, setting profit-making goals, serving customers, repaying investors, and giving back to the community. Along the way, they acquire skills in goal-setting, problem solving, and gain self-esteem critical for future success.
