Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library
Sign your child up to receive a free, age-appropriate book in the mail each month!
Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library is a book-gifting program that mails free books to children. Children under the age of five living in Josephine County qualify to receive a book by mail, at no cost to their families, every month until their fifth birthday. A diverse batch of books is selected for each age group including bilingual books in Spanish and English, with options for braille and audiobooks. Since launching Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library in May 2018, nearly 5,000 Josephine County children have received over 130,000 books.
Register your child
Register your children under the age of five for free online or stop by your nearest library branch in Grants Pass, Illinois Valley, Williams, or Wolf Creek during open hours and fill out a paper form. Use your residential address to sign up — PO Boxes are not valid for this program.
In about 8 weeks, you’ll receive the first book. After that, age-appropriate books will arrive monthly. The first book every child receives is The Little Engine That Could, which is Dolly Parton’s favorite book. The message of the book is timeless, encouraging children to never give up, do their best, and stay positive no matter what.
