South Middle School student wins $500 for her school library
Participants of all ages showed up to the library in costume, well-rehearsed and with props to compete in the 10th Annual Readapalooza Community Read-Aloud on Sunday, October 21.
The 1st place prize in the children’s division went to Cindy Craven from South Middle School who read from “The Witches” by Roald Dahl. Among other prizes, Cindy won $500 for her school library sponsored by the Grants Pass Friends of the Library. She will have the chance to present her librarian with the check early in November and help choose books to be purchased.

The 2018 Readapalooza weekend was made possible by the Grants Pass Friends of the Library. Supporting organizations include Blue Zones Project of Grants Pass, Oregon Books & Games, KAJO/KLDR, and Rogue Roasters.
