GP Creative Writing Workshop: Short stories

How to write short stories and get them published

Join us for a creative writing workshop with local author and expert Nancy Lane to learn how to write short stories and get them published.During this 4.5-hour workshop, participants will learn:
• how to engage readers
• character development
• how to prepare submission packages for publishing

A one-hour break will be provided between 12–1 pm.

Registration is not required and a library card is not needed to participate.

Nancy Lane earned a B.A. degree with a major in Mathematics and a minor in English from University of California Los Angeles. She began writing short stories after years of industry-related writing and teaching. Her stories have been published in many online publications and in the print anthology, “The Best of Fiction on the Web.” Her story collection, “Pretty Chrysanthemum and Other Stories,” was published by Open Books Publishing in 2020. Nancy and her husband moved to the Rogue Valley from the Portland area in 2019.
